How to get the best from your Catching Lawn Mower

Check out these quick-tips to help get the best out of your new Catching Lawn Mower

FOR PERFECT GRASS CATCHING: 

• Air flow is the secret to good grass catching. Make sure your grass catcher is clean before each mow as this will help it ‘breath’.

• The newer grass catchers fill more efficiently than before, coupled with the large open rear chassis design means grass can fall forward into the blade area when the catcher is full, especially on the left side. Always turn off the engine before removing the catcher – never attempt to clear a blocked grass chute with the engine running.

• With the catcher fitted, most Lawn Mowers can cut 60mm grass length down to 20mm in just one cut. However, cutting in 20mm increments is better suited to most mower efficiency and will leave a far better finish. Cutting lower can cause damage to your lawn and dramatically increases blade wear plus reduce cutting power. It is recommended to use a cutting height of number 2 or 3 and above. 

• Lawn daisies always flower above the surrounding lawn level. If daisies are a problem, cutting higher will eliminate the flowers more readily, not cutting lower as some would believe. 

• Blunt or damaged blades will cut down Lawn Mower efficiency. Check Lawn Mower blades regularly.  Always remove the spark plug cap before checking under your Lawn Mower.

• When cleaning your Lawn Mower underneath, use the wash port operating the engine at full revs. Final cleaning can be done by turning off the engine. Remove the spark plug cover. Push down on the mower handle raising the front of the mower. You can now hose underneath. Never turn a four-stroke Lawn Mower onto it's side as the engine oil will pour through the carburetor and filter. It will require cleaning out before you can use it again.
